So I watched with great anticipation and interest the last of this "season's" Presidential debate last night. I'm sure many of the fans at home enjoyed the game last night as the candidates finalize their "pre-superbowl" preparations.
Overall, I was quite disappointed with the debate due to the outrageuos and erratic behavior of John McCain. Until last night, I felt that McCain had maintained a certain maturity and cool-headedness throughout the campaign process. Last night, John McCain struck me at times as a raving lunatic. He appeared VERY unstable and with the sole focus of attacking Barack Obama. I quickly lost respect for John McCain as he spent his minutes dodging questions, and sometimes going completely off-topic to tear down Obama. That is politics as usual John. We, the American People, have watched for years as the Republican Party has gone through their traditional campaign tactics. John McCain claims to have elected the "high road" of campaigning yet I can't remember a single message he tried to pass forward to the American people, except for his near "hatred" for Obama. The classic line was hearing John McCain speak about "hurtful" remarks. Awww... poor thing.
I think Barack Obama had an amazing display of calmness and composure during the debate last night. I think this only further demonstrates the maturity and focus Obama has towards fixing the problems we now face in this country. As McCain tried to "bait" Obama time and again, I came away feeling that Obama did not get "pulled" into the petty bickering that John McCain was trying to elicit.
For entertainment value in a Jerry Springer perspective, John McCain won. As far as being Presidential, Barack Obama won hands down. Sorry John, but you can't have a "nannie nannie boo boo" outlook when it comes to the future of the American people. I'm taking my bat and ball and going home, so there. <sticks tongue out>
