Americans LOVE commercials. Superbowl spots are known to cost millions of dollars and, of course, the election is no different. The night before the election has become the Superbowl Commerical Night and already, I have seen several of the downright nastiest commercials ever to air.
Perhaps we are setting a new trend in dirty. First, Elizabeth Dole "hinting" that Kay Hagen doesn't believe in God has now been followed up with commercials inferring that Obama is the 'enemy." We have been watching advertisements for months now, and with each passing day, we have seen them growing increasingly dispicable. What I wonder is where are these nasty "pitbulls" that create these dirty ads? Do these candidates call up Satan for campaign volunteers, and campaign managers?
Each new ad leaves me shaking my head and laughing. Are people really so gullible as to believe the hogwash that these commercials spew? From my perspective the Republican's have tried circus stunts like nominating Sarah Palin, to perpetuating the same fear and confusion that have dominated the 8 years of the Bush Administration. McCain commercials ask the question about Obama's supposed lack of "Executive Experience," and yet McCain nominated someone who needed someone to tell her what the "VP does on a day to day basis." How amazingly hypocritical.
I must say that of all the commercials I have seen over the past months, I am impressed with the Democratic Campaign. Yes, there have been negative ads, but my opinion of the campaign is that is has been one of hope and change... not of throwing rocks.
Here we are, the night before the election and we've heard all of the sound bytes. We've heard the messages from the different camps. And yet, we see last minute "nasties" creeping out of the woodwork.
