About a month ago, I noticed that Google Voice Search no longer allows me to dial from my contact list.  I'm not sure exactly when it stopped working, but it seems that I updated some of my applications right around the time this happened.  Also, I do know that right around the same time, I got several fatal errors in Google Maps that occurred even though I wasnt running maps directly nor was I running any application that was using Google Maps.  I ended up having to hard boot my Droid in order to get the errors to cease and desist.  Weird.  I uninstalled all of my market applications thinking perhaps that one of the apps had become corrupted.  Still no joy.

I'm hoping, if Verizon ever makes the 2.1 upgrade available, that this problem will get fixed... otherwise I will be left with a Voice Search that wont access my contacts.  Yes, I have the Search settings set to allow Contacts, Browser, Apps, YouTube, Music from within Searchable Items.  I even tried to uncheck browser, but that didnt do anything.

Perplexing.
